Welcome to the First Cycle of the World Urban Regeneration Best Practices (WURBP1) Case Submission System (hereinafter referred to as "the System"). The system aims to provide a convenient and efficient platform for global urban regeneration practitioners to submit their cases. Prior to utilizing the System, please carefully read the following Licensing and Privacy Policy. By registering and using the System, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined in this policy.
The applicant hereby guarantees that they hold the legal rights and intellectual property rights for all drawings, descriptions, electronic documents, and other related materials (collectively referred to as "Submission Documents") provided.
The Submission Documents submitted by the applicant for this project are exclusively for the project and shall not be used beyond this scope by any party.
The applicant ensures that the submitted documents do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights (including but not limited to copyrights, patents), proprietary technologies, or trade secrets, either within China or abroad. Should the Submission Documents include any third party’s intellectual property or proprietary technology or trade secrets, the applicant guarantees that the Advisory Board has obtained legal, valid, and sufficient authorization from the rights holders. The applicant shall bear all legal liabilities arising from any infringement of third-party intellectual property rights or proprietary technologies or trade secrets.
The intellectual property of this System and all its contents (including but not limited to text, graphics, charts, audio, video, software code, etc.) is jointly owned by the Advisory Board. You are hereby granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the System solely for the purpose of case submission.
You agree to use the System only for legal purposes that align with the aims and requirements of the First Cycle of the World Urban Regeneration Best Practices Case Collection. The System shall not be used for any illegal, infringing, or unrelated purposes. Should you violate this usage license, thereby causing losses to the Advisory Board, you shall be liable for compensation, including but not limited to litigation costs, attorney fees, damages, and other reasonable expenses incurred by the Advisory Board in handling infringement matters.
By submitting your application materials, you implicitly agree and authorize the Advisory Board to utilize your Submission Documents and related information within the following scope:
The above authorization is non-exclusive, non-commercial, and limited to the selection activity and its promotional purposes. Should you disagree with any of the above authorizations, please inform us via email (service@wurbp.org) prior to submitting your application materials; otherwise, it will be deemed as implicit consent.
When registering for an account, you are required to provide true, accurate, and complete information and ensure that this information remains up to date during your use of the System. Should any inaccurate or false information be provided, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information (including username, password, etc.) and for all activities conducted through your account. In the event that you discover any unauthorized use of your account, you must notify us immediately. We will take measures to ensure the security of your account within 30 working days of receiving your notification. However, we disclaim liability for any losses incurred prior to the notification, except in instances where such losses are attributable to our fault.
You are prohibited from reverse engineering, decoding, decompiling, modifying, copying, distributing, transmitting, displaying, selling, renting, transfering, licensing, or otherwise misusing the System in any unauthorized manner.
You are prohibited from collecting, storing, or transmitting any information or content through the System that violates applicable laws, infringes on the rights of others, or breaches this policy.
You are prohibited from interfering with or disrupting the normal operation of the System, including, but not limited to, the use of automated scripts, malicious software, or engaging in any form of cyberattack.
The Advisory Board reserves the right to modify, upgrade, or interrupt the System as necessary. We will provide 10 working days’ notice at a prominent location on the System prior to taking any actions that may affect user access, informing users of the scheduled time, expected duration, and possible impacts.
During the registration and use of the System, we collect your personal information, including, but not limited to, your name, contact details, affiliated organization, and relevant information about the submission case. This information will be utilized to manage your account, process your submission, communicate with you, and provide services related to the selection activity.
To ensure the fairness and transparency of the selection process, we may request additional documentation or information to verify your identity and the authenticity of your submission.
We will strictly comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations and use your personal information only within the necessary and legal scope. Your personal information will be used for the following purposes:
We will not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties unlawfully. However, we may share your personal information with third parties under the following circumstances:
We will take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, thereby preventing loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or disclosure. These measures include, but are not limited to, encryption technology, access controls, and security audits.
While we endeavor to take these measures, please be advised that no network transmission or storage system is entirely secure. Consequently, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information in all circumstances.
Your personal information will be stored on secure servers and retained in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Data will be retained for six (6) months after the selection activity concludes and will then be deleted or anonymized in accordance with relevant regulations. If data is transferred across borders, we will implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transmission. Upon the conclusion of the selection activity, we will process your personal information as required, including deletion or anonymization.
Should you wish to delete your account or personal information, please contact us using the contact details provided by the System. We will take appropriate action in accordance with your request and applicable legal requirements.
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Any updates will be posted on the System and will take effect immediately upon publication. Your continued to use the System following the update indicates your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
We will make reasonable efforts to ensure the normal operation of the System. However, due to technical issues, network problems, maintenance, or other unforeseen factors, the System may occasionally be temporarily unavailable. We disclaim responsibility for any losses or damages resulting from such unavailability.
All information and content provided in this System are intended for reference purposes only. We do not warrant their accuracy, completeness, or reliability. You are responsible for independently evaluating and verifying any information or content provided within the System.
This System may contain links to third-party websites or services. We disclaim responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party sites or services. You are advised to exercise caution when accessing these links and do so at your own risk.
This Licensing and Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding its conflict-of-law principles).
Any disputes arising from or related to this policy should first be resolved through amicable negotiation. Should negotiation fail, either party may initiate legal proceedings in a court of competent jurisdiction.
